Ritchies' Ongoing Support for Southern Peninsula Food for All: A Partnership Making a Difference
At Ritchies, we are proud to continue supporting the Southern Peninsula Food for All organization through our Community Benefit Programme. This long-standing initiative, founded in 1991 in response to community needs, provides vital emergency food relief to individuals and families across the Southern Peninsula. It operates as an all-volunteer, ecumenically based organization, supported by local churches, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and the generous donations from the community.
Through our ongoing partnership, we have contributed a total of $7,056.40 to Food for All so far, with plans to continue our support in the years ahead. This funding helps the organization provide balanced food parcels every week to those in need. Each parcel contains essential non-perishable items, including cereal, pasta, pasta sauce, long-life milk, coffee, biscuits, tinned fruit, tinned meals, vegetables, cheese, and more. These parcels are packed every Thursday morning at their Distribution Centre in Rosebud and are distributed by members of the local St. Vincent de Paul Conferences and the Southern Peninsula Community Support team.
Food for All relies on the generosity of the Southern Peninsula community, and it would not be possible to operate without the continued support of individuals, schools, local businesses, and organizations. Food is collected from dedicated donation bins at local supermarkets, and additional food purchases are made when items are on special, with local supermarkets offering extra discounts to support the cause. Volunteers and community members generously donate both food and funds to ensure that Food for All can continue to provide this essential service.
In its 33 years of operation, Food for All has packed and distributed over 75,000 food parcels, making a significant impact on the lives of those experiencing hardship in the region. The work of its volunteers is truly outstanding, and Ritchies is honored to be a part of this vital cause.
Through our Community Benefit Programme, we remain dedicated to supporting Food for All and helping them grow their operations to meet the increasing need for food relief in the Southern Peninsula. We are committed to standing with this organization and the community as they work tirelessly to provide emergency food to those in need, ensuring that no one is left behind.
