Ritchies and Asthma - 17 Years Straight

Through Ritchies Stores' Community Benefit Card Scheme, customers have been able to nominate a percentage of their purchases to a proposed charity, school or community group.

Robin Ould, CEO, Asthma Foundation of Victoria said, 'The Asthma Foundation of Victoria would like to thank Ritchies Supermarkets for their generous support over many years. We are thrilled to announce that Ritchies and our donors throughout Victoria who shop at Ritchies have raised over $120,806.06 (end April 2011) for the Foundation since our relationship commenced in 1994.

In many ways, Ritchies Stores have the led the way with involving the community in giving. This dates back to 1870 when Ritchies was established and Thomas Ritchie opened a grocery store in Frankston, with the intention of donating part of his profit back to the community. We are grateful for their contribution.'

The Community Benefit Card is free and can be collected from any Ritchies supermarket or liquor store throughout Victoria. There is no requirement to give your name or other details, just nominate the Asthma Foundation of Victoria. Your card will be issued immediately and can be used straight away in any Ritchies store. Simply present your card for scanning every time you shop at Ritchies and a percentage of your purchase value will automatically go to the Asthma Foundation.
