April 1975

What do you do at Ritchies? 

I am a Ritchies Director and Company Secretary. Currently also the "Property Manager". 

Tell us about your career path.  

I started at Towerhill as a casual in the tiny supermarket doing night fill on a Wednesday night and trolly collection and packing groceries on the checkout on the Friday night. Whilst at uni I managed the Mornington store on Friday nights and saturdays. I joined full time as the accountant in 1983 and moved into the CFO role soon after. In 2022 I passed that role onto Di Rothacker and am now the property manager. 

What is a favourite quote?

I always thought people smarter and more experienced than me would ..."take us to the promised land". I worked out pretty soon that no one is going to do that and it is up to you to make calculated risks and follow through enacting plans and strategies. No one will make it easy for you. 

What sport are you most passionate about? 

Volleyball. Still playing on a regular basis. My ankles and knees have never forgiven me for this passion😩

Where is your favourite destination in the world, or dream to visit? 

Australia. There is so much to see and I have only just touched the surface. 

What’s your favourite costume you have warn to a dress up party? 

Jack sparrow from pirates of the carrabean. I also have a soft spot for my "Tiny Tim" outfit but I'm showing my age as not too many people know this singer from the sixties. 

Tell us a surprising or a fun fact about you 

my favourite cartoon character is "Fearless fly". I'm terribly short sighted and have worn glasses full time since the age of 14. This character was super powerful when he put on his glasses....my hero😂😂😂
