I first started in November 1976

What do you do at Ritchies?

Currently I am heading up Loyalty and e-commerce as well as a Ritchies Director.

Tell us about your career path.

I spent 25 years in the Ritchies liquor department then had a break. I then returned to the Ritchies supermarket division and then took on a promotion and advertising role. My day to day role will finish in February 2025 and I will remain as a non-executive Director.

What do you enjoy most about working for Ritchies?

Having spent nearly 50 years with in the Ritchies Family my first joy would be the friendships and camaraderie that I have developed with many people at Ritchies, suppliers and customers. Ritchies is a family business, and this is what makes our culture so strong and enduring. The commitment to supporting all our communities is also very important to me.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Listen very carefully before you speak, empathy and honesty are two of the best qualities you can live by.

What is your favourite thing to buy in a Supermarket?

Currently loving Papaya as a smoothy with fresh lemon every morning. Ritchies meat has always been a favorite for the quality and of course a good bottle of Cabernet…

Where is your favourite destination in the world, or dream to visit?

I am spending a lot of time in Brazil and find it to be a beautiful and exciting country. The place I want to explore much more is India, having visited once I am hooked..
